Bernie Sanders - More Angry than Specific

Every country, even the world's poorest countries, have a top 1%. Like the Occupy Wall-street movement, Bernie is outraged at this top one percent.

However, Hillary and others have continually pressed him for specifics, which admittedly can be more difficult to come by. Adding to this criticism, the Washington Post (not a conservative publication) has called a recent Sanders interview with the NY Daily News a near disaster (Here are 9 reasons why).

So, let's get specific. What does the top 1% currently pay in taxes?  "According to estimates by the Tax Policy Foundation, the top 1 percent of earners (incomes in excess of $615,000) are paying nearly half -- 45.7 percent -- of individual income taxes for tax year 2014. The top 20 percent, with incomes above $134,300, contribute nearly 84 percent of all federal income taxes" (link).
