US Senator Rand Paul was recently attacked in his yard (Paul claims it was politically motivated) and 4 Republican leaders were shot at a Republican baseball game in Illinois earlier this year.

This photo of Kathy Griffin beheading Trump or Snoop Dogg standing over Trump's dead body reveal a bigger problem: Sore losers who can't accept the fact that their candidate lost. In life and in politics, we don't always get our way. But violent actions and images are not a mature - or safe - way to lose an election. How many more violent incidents will it take before we realize this?

Did Russians Hack the 2016 Election?

Yes, it looks like some Russians hacked John Podesta's emails. This was wrong. However, this is not the same as "hacking the election," as the media keeps saying. Actually, many politicians' emails have been hacked in the past - including Sarah Palin, Colin Powell, George H.W. Bush, British Home Secretary Theresa May, the Climate Research Unit and - recently - three UK politicians who were using insecure WiFi services.
This brings up another point: Often when politicians' emails are hacked, it's because they are ignorant of the threats that are out there as well as the laws created to protect them from these threats.

Yes, the Russians likely hacked Clinton campaign emails. Yes, it was both wrong and illegal. But no, hacking politicians' emails and posting them online is not a new phenomenon. It also happened to Sarah Palin during the 2008 campaign (Link) and, more recently, Colin Powell.

I'm tired of these spoiler presidential candidates ruining elections. If it weren't for Hillary stealing votes from Gary Johnson, we'd have had an entirely different outcome!

Donald Trump and Scott Stapp

I remember how nobody would ever admit to liking Creed or owning their albums. But every time they released a new album, it would instantly go multi-platinum and take over Billboard charts. Ashamed fans would listen to "Arms Wide Open" or "'My Sacrifice" in the safety of their cars, windows always rolled up.

I think there's a similar effect with Donald Trump. Nobody likes him, yet he somehow won the election.

3rd Party Candidates 2016

It looks like it's gonna be Hillary vs Trump in 2016. But that's not the whole picture. New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson got 1.3 million votes for US President in 2012 (3rd place), and is now polling at a strong 11% according to the Washington Times.

Johnson is running again in 2016 as the Libertarian candidate, quietly building on his previous campaign. In addition to being a popular two-term governor, he's also a competitive athlete, completing the Hawaii Iron Man five times.
